Living Arroyos was delighted to have Chevron employees volunteer on September 12 as part of Chevron’s 2014 Corporate Caring Week. 38 volunteers worked hard digging holes and planting young oak seedlings along our one-mile stretch of the Arroyo Mocho. It was HOT but due to their persistence and diligence, the group planted 140+ trees!
As adults, these oak trees will shade the stream, lowering water temperatures while providing habitat for fish, birds, and other creatures. Humans will enjoy the shady recreation area as well.
Volunteer workdays with Living Arroyos offer employees the chance to give back to their community while they have fun, work together, and connect with each other. Additional companies such as Ellie Mae, Kaiser, and SAP Software & Solutions have found the workdays to be excellent for teambuilding and company morale. Many volunteers have also mentioned that they love being able to bring their kids!
Thank you, Chevron, for the gift of your time and energy.
