Living Arroyos thanked our hardworking volunteers with a delicious barbecue.  Volunteers came out of the field to enjoy folk music by the Sean Hodge Trio as well as sliders and salads from Cabana Dave’s Catering.  The day was breezy and cool, the setting shady and picturesque  – a perfect day to enjoy music, food, and each other’s company.

Living Arroyos has accomplished a great deal over the last year.  We have planted over 2000 trees and excavated huge amounts of invasive species.  We have picked up garbage and dug a mattress out of the ground.  We have seen our baby oaks emerge and live, much to our delight.  None of this would have been possible without our volunteers, some of whom have

shown up week after week to go on this journey of transforming the outdoor space in their community into living, functioning nature.

Special congratulations go out to our Outstanding Volunteer Award recipients!  These four volunteers were recognized for their diligence, passion, and consistency.  Their efforts have contributed to making Living Arroyos a huge success in its first year.  Congratulations to Ken Boyden, Mike Chu, Renee Lau, and Loic, 14.  You rock and we would be lost without you!
